I am a firm believer that all stories in the Bible need to be understood as symbolic explanations for our spiritual growth, especially the ones in Genesis. For this Sunday, the focus is the “punishment” that the woman receives for eating the forbidden fruit: the pain of childbearing and living under the rule of her husband. We explore what this particular story is explaining in connection to our spiritual growth; spiritual temptation in particular.
