Sermon by The Rev. Junchol Lee, September 22, 2019
Scripture readings: Genesis 4:17-26; Zechariah 8:1-8
Cain is a very strong character in the Bible. He was the first human born outside of Eden, was the first tiller of the ground, and yet was the first murderer. In Genesis 4, Cain is also the first one to build a city. Arguably, Cain is the originator of the human civilization. I reflect on the symbolic meaning of Cain and the first city built by him.
