Opening of the Word

Responsive Invocation

It is good to praise the Lord and make music to your name, O Most High,

Proclaiming your love in the morning and your faithfulness at night.

For you make me glad by your deeds, Lord; I sing for joy at what your hands have done.

How great are your works, Lord, how profound your thoughts!

For surely your enemies, Lord, surely your enemies will perish; all evildoers will be scattered.

You have exalted my horn like that of a wild ox; fine oils have been poured on me.

The righteous will flourish like a palm tree, they will grow like a cedar of Lebanon;

Planted in the house of the Lord, they will flourish in the courts of our God.

Hymn: One Bread, One Body

Litany of the Ten Commandments:

Then God spoke these words: I am the Lord your God, you shall have no other gods before me.

O Lord, we think of you daily and are mindful of your truth and love.

You shall not make for yourself an idol nor bow down to worship them.

O Lord, we worship only you above our will and worldly possessions.

You shall not misuse the name of the Lord your God.

O Lord, we revere your name and exalt you in words and deeds.

Remember the sabbath day, and keep it holy.

O Lord, our time is in your hands, we delight in your presence on this day.

Honor your father and your mother.

O Lord, we respect and love our parents and those who have nurtured us in your ways.

You shall not murder.

O Lord, we show regard for our neighbor with love, thoughtfulness, and forgiveness.

The Lord’s Prayer (unison):

Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.  Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.  And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.  For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.

Responding Glorification (unison):

Behold, the dwelling of God is with his people. He will dwell with them, and they shall be his, and God himself shall be with them and be their God.

You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you have created all things, and by your will they exist and were created.

Great and wonderful are your deeds, O Lord God the Almighty! Just and true are your ways, O King of the ages! Who shall not fear and glorify your name, O Lord? For you alone are holy. All nations shall come and worship you, for your judgments have been revealed.

The kingdom of this world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Christ, and he shall reign for ever and ever. We give you thanks, Lord God Almighty, who are and who was, because you have taken your great power and have entered into your reign.
